The US release of the Avatar blu-ray has been confirmed as region free by retailer Axel. This means that the blu-ray disc will play in any blu-ray player worldwide.

The US release of Avatar on blu-ray also comes with a DVD disc of the movie (DVD aspect of the release yet to be confirmed region free) and features 1.78:1 film aspect ratio, with audio being presented in 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio for the original soundtrack only.
